Many of us watched the events at the U.S. Capital on 6 January 2021 transpire in shock and disbelief that anything such as that could possibly ever happen here in the U.S. – possibly elsewhere but certainly not here in the U.S. The attempted coup was in many ways constitutes a greater threat to American democracy that the attack on 911.
